Basics: Winter Skincare

Image
It's everyone's dream to get that flawless dewy glow that is immune to icy cold temperatures, winter sun and harsh winds. As much as we like the cozy blankets and oh so gorgeous fall clothes, winter, in particular, can be very harmful for the skin. Lesser water intake and decreased activity of protective barriers leaves the skin dehydrated which leads to visible dry patches and irritation. Before starting, let me tell you that it takes time and commitment to achieve visible results following a particular skin care regime. Here's a step wise guide to help you attain that supple healthy skin. 1. KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE No two people have the same skin type and it's very important to determine yours before start using a product. You can use a product (which is not suitable for your skin) for months and see no results. Using wrong products may even lead to negative effects and breakouts. Visit your dermatologist to know your skin type or do it yourself at home.        ...

" DON'T WORRY, BE HAMPI!"

Image
As India's bouldering capital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a backpacker's haven, Hampi is sure to make you fall in love with our roots again. The town of Hampi is built on the ruins of Vijayanagara, one of the most significant and richest empires in the Indian history. It's history can also be traced in the RAMAYANA. Situated near the modern city of Hospete, it is spread across 4100 acres and is home to one of the holiest temples in India, the Virupaksha temple. As told by a local guide, one needs approximately 3 months or more to learn the entire history of the group of monuments present in the region. The Tungbhadhra river divides Hampi into two; the temple side, and the other side, now known as the Hippie island. Writing about Hampi in one article is almost impossible, to be honest. So, let me take you through a quick photowalk and you’ll see what this magical place is all about. VITHALA TEMPLE Temple entrance and the stone Chariot The temple complex ...

Madhubani, the finest of all.

Image
The art of Madhubani holds a very special place in my heart and that is probably the reason why I decided to promote it. I first came to know about the art from  my grandmother when I was 13, and have been in love with it ever since. This post is a small step on my part to spread awareness about Madhubani, and a token of gratitude to the people who have dedicated their lives to the art. Paintings with vibrant patterns inspired by nature , deities, Gods, animals and geometrical shapes. Madhubani/ Mithila was originated in Mithila region of Bihar, during the famous Indian epic, Ramayana. King Janak commissioned a number of artists to create paintings of the wedding of his beloved daughter, Sita with the majestic Ram and thus the art was born. The paintings are not just a pattern of bright colours and shapes, but a canvas of characters narrating a story. Back in the day, women used to paint the walls of their houses, as an illustration of their thoughts, hopes and dre...

First of all, let me tell you that make up is and should be a personal choice. I am in no way asking you to start using make up if you're not comfortable with it because you are beautiful with or without it, and let no one tell you otherwise. :) Secondly, entering the world of makeup with so many brands and products can be a bit overwhelming, to be honest. I still struggle to find the right products, but trust me, only and only the right products will make a difference. To help you out, I have listed some of the products that you can start working with if you are a beginner. PS. I am just talking about base and contouring in this one. I will write about other products in the next post. All the products are the ones that I have tried and tested. 1. Primer A primer is very important as it provides a smooth base for your foundation and makes it last all day long. This step should really not be missed. Some of the primers that I swear by are- •Innisfree no sebum blur primer-...
